Testimonies of American Tundra Shepherd Dog Owners..
Dear ATSDA,
I wanted to let you know that we enjoyed coming to the Rendezvous this fall (Oct 04). I was so impressed that all the dogs got
along. I enjoyed seeing some of Dakota's half Siblings. I am very proud to be a Tundra owner. I will always have on in my
life. Dakota is wonderful, and I would not trade him for the world. My two (2) year old girl loves him, and he is very good with
her. I would love to see the tundras get more recognition, and familarity. Thanks again for putting the rendezvous's together,
and can't wait for the next one.
Sincerly Kelly C.
Shadow is our solid black male ATS. We took him to the rendezvous saturday. I was very proud of him as he was the
picture of calm, cool and collected the entire day. He met every person and canine there and regardless of age, gender
or species, he never once showed any signs of nervousness or any aggression whatsoever. Even when the adorable Millenium
pup pounced on his back while he was lying in the grass on my lap.
Late in the afternoon as we were packing up to leave, a family who had a 12 year old boy showed up. They'd just found
the info on the rendezvous on the net and had hoped to show up before all the dogs left. There were just a few of us
still there. The young boy had only cats and was just a little fearful of these large dogs. The first time he
approached me, shadow and I were sitting in the grass taking a break. I told the young fella he could pet shadow, but
he declined the offer. Later his father came over with him and the boy decided it was okay to touch this big dog. We
were standing at the edge of the road loading coolers in the back of our truck and this boy was standing there. Shadow
walked over to him and nuzzled his hand wanting some attention. I said "see! he likes you." It was very rewarding to
see this boys face light up at the attention Shadow was giving him. I looked at my husband Bill and said " here, take
Shadow so I can help Tammy" and the boy pipes up and said "I'll take him". I handed him Shadows lead and told him it
was quite alright to take the dog a walk. This young boy who was fearful of dogs ended up leading Shadow all over the
hillside.
This big ol' dog seemed to sense this boys fear and did all HE could to help him relax and converted yet another person
into a Tundra lover. Am i bragging?? darn right I am!!!
